My step father David died on 6th September 2015. 7 months later on the 22nd April 2016 our twin girls Poppy and Suki were born.
First Day of Autumn is a deeply personal and intimate photographic series that documents the last stages of my step fathers battle with cancer whilst experiencing the turbulent journey of IVF that my wife and I were undergoing. Mainly taken over the last 6 months of his life as we all came to terms with the bleak and inevitable outcome of his terminal illness the series explores the conflict of emotions and feelings of death and new life and goes on to explore the passing of time, growth and young fatherhood.
